Which peel should I have?
There are numerous types of chemical peels. Some of them use alpha-hydroxy acids, other peels use beta-hydroxy acids, and there’s also combination peels. With so many options available, we know it can be challenging to know which peel would be the best fit for your concerns. Selecting the correct strength and type of chemical peel, based on your skin type and underlying skincare concerns, is critical to having the best results. During your first consultation our doctor or dermal clinician will customize a treatment plan that fits your skin needs. With each session we monitor the progress and adjust the treatments if needed. How does it works?
The chemical peel breaks the bonds that keep dead skin cells to the skin’s surface, increasing the skin cell turnover rate and revealing healthy, new skin cells. A tailored and consistent series of peels can effectively help control acne, reduce wrinkles, strengthen collagen and fade unwanted excess pigment. Can chemical peels be used for body areas?
Yes, the treatment can be applied on the face and body. Delicate areas of the body such as the inner thighs, groin, axillae, face, and under eyes can also be treated with specially tailored peels. How often should I do this treatment?
Our protocol recommends a series of peels (3-6 treatments), each spaced 3 weeks apart, to achieve the best rejuvenation results. Gradual improvement occurs with each treatment. To enhance the process our specialists may recommend using specially-formulated skincare products at home, including those with active ingredients like vitamin C, glycolic acid, lactic acid, hydroquinone, retinol, or azelaic acid. Your treatment plan will be customized with our doctor or dermal clinician during your initial consultation, and treatment progress will be monitored and adjusted as needed during each follow-up visit.closed
